Covering the rationale for why to listen to your parents because we read research based articles on nutrition and safety , for instance, or why to be honest strikes me as respectful to the young reader Not too dated for a book written in 1946 but why do they all seem to include Eskimos

This is a delightful little book, and one of my personal favorites It s sweet and optimistic, and the simple, stick figure drawings echo the simplicity of the book s message just be honest, fair, wise, and strong Although it s a children s storybook, I would say that it is equally relevant for adults It has a permanent place on my bookshelf

Nice to have a morals book that s not drenched in god but had a bit too much behaving so people like you stuff Also we skipped some sexist nonsense.

Follow the rules of this book, and you ll be happy for most of your life.

I expected this to be an etiquette book for children Well, it is, in a way.Instead of giving certain rules to follow, though, Leaf instead stresses the qualities that one should develop in order to be a person with good behavior honesty, fairness, strength, and wisdom And he explains WHY one should develop these qualities and what will happen if one does not.Rather impressive I think that it may be a little advanced for my toddlers but maybe a good book to share regardless _ It might help _

This set of books is fantastic They were in print years ago and now again I love the retro pictures, and the sixty year old advice to children on how to behave, speak politely and act around others It reminds me of the matter of fact text of the We Help Mommy and We Help Daddy books My Mom gives my kids this good advice that I think is completely ignored in a lot of families I love these books

This is a great little book to describe the right ways to behave and tell us why we want to do it We must be Honest, Strong, Fair, and Wise to live a happy life full of friends If you want detailed instructions, this is not the book for you, but it gives a wonderful overview of manners and principles of living.It s at a good level for my seven year old to understand My four year old can also easily sit and listen to it, but I don t know how much of it he understands.

A timeless classic I got this for my kids, sort of as a joke But it is full of really basic but useful information about how to get along with people It never hurts to be reminded Even though this book was written in the 1940s, it is surprisingly relevant It teaches kids and adults to respect people who are different It emphasizes leading a happy life It is refreshingly practical.

First published in 1946, and clearly of it s time, this book is none the less a children s classic for a reason With cute illustrations, easy to understand explanations of why and how one should always endeavor to be honest, strong, fair, and wise, and also a quick look at the natural consequences of the reverse One s personal happiness is presented as inseparble from how one treats others in a very accessible way.

It explains in dept what are honesty, fairness, strong habits and being wise Great resource for what rules are and why for teachers The author does a nice job explaining different ethic value and breaks each habit to analyze and how each effect people around us Funny cartoons make the messages interesting

For pre k children and kindergarten children, this is an excellent book to read to children about correct behavior I would use this book in the classroom to inform children about what is character and why it is important The book is good to teach children about morals and the correct behavior when with their friends.

A beautiful, funny, adorable book Old or young it s a fun read, I do so much like getting back to basics especially with a book like this which is timeless If you have kids I am sure you will love reading it to them and they will love reading it If you don t gave kids I m sure you ll love reading it anyway

This belongs on everyone s bookshelf The old and young will benefit from the wisdom in this book LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Munro Leaf wrote Ferdinand, which is by far, hands down, my all time fave children s book

This was a great book although on the long side so short attention spans may become divertedbut it is a good way to reinforce the basics of good behavior I like to read it aloud when my kids need to be remindedLOL

I love this book read it with my son before he was diagnosed with ADHD and it gave us a bond and understanding of how to work things out together It helps children to understand in a fun easy way the reasons we should behave in the correct manner.

Manners and etiquette book A lot of good ideas, although it does have some poor word choices like stupid Need to preface it while reading we don t say this word at school because it s bad, but the author uses it etc.

This children s book reminds all of us of the basic fundamentals of how we should behave as decent members of society It is great to read to children and many adults in our world should read it as a reminder as well
